2x Presso
6 Southern Tier Our 2xStout is considered by many to be a perfect milk stout. We started with that in mind, and added espresso beans and lemon peels for a true Italian style pick-me-up. The result is a stout so black, so rich, so creamy, it’d be at home in a café along a cobblestone street in some neighborhood in Rome. Yet, it’s beer.
2X Stout
0 Southern Tier Double Milk Stout "2 varieties of hops & 3 types of malts" Milk stout, also called ‘cream’ or ‘sweet’ stout, is a stout containing lactose, a sugar derived from milk. Because lactose is unfermentable by beer yeast, it adds sweetness and body to the finished beer. Milk stouts have been claimed to be nutritious, and were marketed as such in the early 1900s with claims that would make the FDA wince. One ad read, “Ideal for nursing mothers, for the healthy, for the invalid, and for the worker.” Surely! Of course, we couldn’t stop at a traditional milk stout. Ours is a double, an addition to our 2X line, and at 7.5% abv is every bit as delicious as it sounds. To your health!

0 Harsens Island Brewery Description N/A
A Real Nice Surprise
0 Goose Island Beer Co. A Real Nice Surprise draws inspiration from two holiday classics – eggnog and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. When our brewers sat under the train tracks sipping on the infamous, and high-octane, Tom & Jerry the team knew the flavors of eggnog, rum and bourbon needed to find a home in a holiday beer. A Real Nice Surprise starts life as a rich porter brewed with chocolate malts, cinnamon, and nutmeg that is then aged in a combination of rum, bourbon, and brandy barrels for two months resulting in a smooth, creamy beer that you will love. So curl up next to a fire, have a sip, and enjoy the holiday spirit because this beer is a surprise…A Real Nice Surprise.
Alaskan Perseverance
7 Alaskan Brewing Company This complex and malt-forward Imperial Stout is brewed with an array of local ingredients and flavors to add dimension and celebrate Alaska’s history and home. Alaska birch syrup from Kahiltna Birchworks lends a deep, almost tart character to the dark malt profile, while wildflower honey adds a delicate sweetness and floral notes to the aroma and finish. The slight addition of our in-house alder-smoked malt alludes to the distinctive roasted flavor of turn-of-the-century malting practices, without overpowering the more subtle flavors of this dynamic anniversary brew.
Alaskan Smoked Porter
5 Alaskan Brewing Company The dark, robust body and pronounced smoky flavor of this limited edition beer make it an adventuresome taste experience.
Alberta Clipper
4 Great Lakes A Winter Porter made with Belgian Chocolate and Raspberries.
Anchor Porter
5 Anchor The deep black color thick creamy head and intensely rich flavor of Anchor Porter made in San Francisco since 1974 have earned this unique brew a worldwide reputation for outstanding quality.
Apathy Oatmeal Stout
0 Greenbush Brewing Co. An oatmeal stout for the undecided... Oh, I don’t know. It’s just that, well, it seems that maybe… What was I saying? Beat those ho-hum doldrums with a tall taste of Apathy. It’s enough to snap you out of whatever state you’re in. Grain: Maris Otter, Chocolate Malt, Caramel Malt 40L, Caramel Malt 120L, Roast Barley, Honey Malt Hops: East Kent Goldings Yeast: House yeast Extras: Oatmeal
Aphotic W/Cold Pressed Coffee
7 High Water Brewing Formally defined as the depths in water beyond which less than one percent of sunlight penetrates. Aphotic is a beer with a very dark side. Just one sip and you will understand the true depths of its darkness as the deep, luxurious layers of malt rich-ness tantalize and tease your taste buds. Cold pressed coffee adds a slight citrusy, earthy flavor with floral aromas.
Arabicadabra
5 Bell's Coffee Milk Stout. Brewed with 100% Arabica coffee beans roasted by Ferris Coffee in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Arcadia Imperial Stout
7 Arcadia Our extraordinary Imperial Stout is black as midnight with a rich, palate-warming mouth feel. It offers an alluring aroma of dark roasted malts and blackstrap molasses with a hint of smoke. The flavor features notes of coffee, bittersweet cocoa, black licorice and hint of prunes. A generous addition of hops contributes complexity and balance plus a pleasantly astringent finish. With proper aging, our Imperial Stout matures for up to fours years. Winner of a prestigious Gold Medal for Bottle Condition Ale at 2002 Real Ale Festival.
Arcadia London Porter
5 Arcadia A deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. Premium European malted barley provides a complex and full-bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate coffee caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Bake Sale Double Milk Stout
6 Arbor Brewing Company We brewed Bake Sale because who doesn't love buying homemade cookies in a school gym. A full-bodied double milk stout, Bake Sale is brewed with milk sugar, molasses, cacao nibs, malted oats, and then conditioned on cinnamon and whole vanilla bean. A deep black, almost ruby beer sits under a chocolate tanned foam. Aromas of cream and coffee, burnt sugar and cocoa, precede a delicious flavor blend of deep dark chocolate, sweet caramel, cinnamon toast, and smooth vanilla. Its chewy mouthfeel and creamy sweetness are reminiscent of eating that authentic, covertly-sold oatmeal cookie.
Baltic Porter
6 Bell's Rich, chocolate, smooth
Baltic Porter
7 Alaskan This style shares many characteristics with a Russian Imperial Stout, at times the two are almost indistinguishable. Baltic Porter is full-bodied and jet-black in color with brilliant garnet highlights and a dense tan head. The smooth, deep maltiness is accentuated by raisin and licorice notes, as well as chocolate and mild coffee characters. A touch of cherry and dried fruit flavors are also evident with a mellow vanilla background rounding the finish. The oak brings hints of bourbon and hot toffee and contributes to the warmth of this richly flavorful beer.
Baltic Thunder
6 Victory While Heavyweight Brewing deserves credit for introducing the Baltic porter style to many craft beer fans, this beer from Victory represents an all new recipe fashioned on the experience of Tom's original intense brew. One noteworthy difference is the higher alcohol by volume of Baltic Thunder, 8.5% compared to Heavyweight's, which weighed in at 8%. An additional distinction is Victory's use of black eyed peas in lieu of Roman beans. Despite these changes, this dark lager still features a reminiscent roasted character that embodies the fullness of toffee, along with subtle fruit flavors derived from its higher temperature fermentation. Long, cold aging tempers this complex beer into a well-rounded delight that warms with its significant alcohol strength. The final packaged product will be released in 25.4 fluid ounce bottles. "The first brew of Baltic Thunder was magical. Tom and his original co-conspirator on the beer, Lew Bryson, even came here to Victory to assist. Then, while sharing a pint of Baltic Thunder off of the lagering tank a few weeks later with Tom, I swear the spirit of his departed Perkuno was smiling upon our accomplishment," continued Covaleski.

7 Bell's Sweet scent, with bitter malts to balance. Dark black color. Medium to low carbonation. Taste is mellow toasted malts and barley. Some hops, a bit of boozy hits at the end. Full mouth feel that lingers.
Beer For Breakfast
0 Dogfish Head Brewery A stout tricked out with all sorts of breakfast ingredients including Guatemalan Antigua cold press coffee, Maple syrup harvested from Western Massachusetts and for the quintessential Delaware breakfast touch - Rapa Scrapple and their secret blend of spices. 2-row Applewood smoked barley, Kiln Coffee malt, Flaked oats, Roasted barley, Caramel malt along with additions of Molasses, Milk Sugars (lactose), Brown Sugar, Roasted Chicory lay the foundation for this malty, breakfast-themed concoction. Enjoy huge notes of coffee in the nose and savory layers in the flavor.
Bell's Cherry Stout
6 Bell's Tinted ruby-black, Cherry Stout gains its signature tartness from 100% Montmorency cherries grown in Michigan's Traverse City region. Rather than doubling up on sweetness, this tart cherry varietal serves as a counterpoint to the warm, dark chocolate notes from the malt bill. Lightly hopped for balance, this stout is one of the cornerstones of the Bell's stout portfolio.
Bell's Cherry Stout (Bourbon Barrel Aged)
8 Bell's The tartness from the cherries is not lost at all with the chocolate and bourbon notes. Well balanced with just the right amount of fruity esters and barrel aged qualities.
Bell's Milk Stout
5 Bell's Brewed along the lines of a sweet stout, Milk Stout combines a wide range of specialty roasted malts and natural lactose sugar to create a wonderfully warm, rich, mocha-like flavor. With a high percentage of unfermentable sugars, Milk Stout leans more sweet than heavy, with only 5.5% abv.
Bell's Oatmeal Stout
5 Bell's An old favorite at the Eccentric Café, Oatmeal Stout uses a hefty dose of flaked oats to lend a silky smooth texture, serving as a balance against the coffee-like roasted malt notes.
Bell's Porter
6 Bell's A blend of dark malts give this beer flavors of coffee and chocolate with subtle roasted notes.
Bell's Rye Stout
5 Bell's Rye Stout presents the earthy flavor of rye in a stout package. Roasted malts are definitely present, but the dark chocolate aspect is favored over coffee notes. Lighter than several in the Bell’s stout portfolio, Rye Stout remains a full-bodied beer with 6.5% ABV.
Bell's Smoked Stout
6 Bell's Smoked malts from Germany lend a mild smoky character to this stout, swirling around the chocolate, coffee, and roasted aromas of the other malts. This smoky aspect stops short of being the dominant flavor note, offering instead a subdued, complementary twist to the classic flavors of the genre.
Bible Belt
8 Prairie Artisan Ales (Evil Twin Collaboration) Prairie Artisan Ales and Evil Twin Brewing have joined forces again on a variation of their first collaboration. The new beer is Barrel-Aged Bible Belt, a 12 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with cacao nibs, chili peppers, coffee and vanilla beans before being aged in Heaven Hill whiskey barrels for between seven and nine months. As the name suggests, the base beer is Bible Belt, a 13 percent imperial stout first released in 2014 that combines Evil Twin’s Even More Jesus imperial stout (12 percent ABV) and the same spices and other adjuncts that are used in Prairie’s Bomb! imperial stout (13 percent ABV.)
Big Bad Baptist
0 Epic Brewing Co. It’s Big, it’s Bad, Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, with Coffee and Cocoa Nibs.
Big Bad Baptist Hazelnut Vanilla Latte
8 Epic Brewing Co. Imperial Stout aged in whiskey barrels with cacao nibs, coffee, vanilla, and roasted hazelnuts
Big Bad Baptist Vanilla Brandy
8 Epic Brewing Co.
Big Bad Baptista
8 Epic Brewing Co. Big Bad Baptista is inspired by traditional Mexican coffee, Café de Olla, which is served with cinnamon and piloncillo, an unrefined sugar. The Cinnamon adds another layer of complexity and accentuates the earthy character of Mexican Coffee, but more importantly, it captures the essence of a place and its culture. As beverage geeks we wanted to pay homage to that rich tradition and offer our unique take. Big Bad Baptista is a combination of Vanilla, Cinnamon, Mexican coffee roasted by Blue Copper, and Solstice Chocolate cacao nibs. It’s luxurious to say the least, with a pleasant warming sensation generated by the cinnamon and alcohol. Enjoying the interplay of chocolate, malt, oak, and spice is the perfect way to spend a cool evening, with friends around a fire.
Big Black Bear Stout
6 Bear Republic Big Bear is a big, black, stout you can really sink your teeth into. The bold, roasty, caramel malt flavor is balanced by Centennial and Cascade hops.
Big Black Smoke
5 Great Lakes A traditional porter with a subtle smoked malt flavor.
Big Lushious
6 Founders This deep, rich stout is packed with flavor: roasted malts, all-natural dark chocolate, a subtle suggestion of burnt coffee grounds and a kiss of tart raspberries. It’s big but balanced. At 7.8% ABV, Big Lushious is a sumptuous, extravagant dessert beer fit for enjoying with friends and family around the holidays or to celebrate a special occasion. But really, this beer can make any occasion special. Don’t worry; we won’t call you a lush.

Bitches Brew
7 Dogfish Head According to Dogfish founder and president Sam Calagione, the ale is "the ultimate partner for chili or spicy curry chicken" and best enjoyed "sipped cool, not cold, from a snifter or red wine glass while listening to the Bitches Brew album."
Bittersweet Imperial Coffee Milk Stout
6 Left Hand Brewing The coffee’s dark cherry flavors and spicy undertones weave into the rich milky sweet stout like a chocolate-covered espresso bean melting on your tongue. Bitter then sweet. Sweet then bitter. It’s bittersweet

3 Guinness Traditionally a mix of Bass with Guinness floated on top
Black Ace
7 Grand River Marketplace Rich, dark, smooth, velevety, molasses and carmel notes, hints of caremel...extremely well balanced for a high gravity beer.
Black and Brew
5 Boston Beer Co. Rich, bold coffee stout.
Black Butte Porter
5 Deschutes Brewery With a dark beer as our first and flagship brand, Black Butte defined Deschutes as a radical player. A slight hop bitterness up front enhances the distinctive chocolate and roasted finish. It’s prized for its creamy mouthfeel and intense complex flavors.
Black Butte XXVI
8 Deschutes Brewery Our 26th anniversary imperial porter was aged in bourbon barrels and dry spiced with theo chocolate’s cocoa nibs, revealing hints of vanilla and chocolate. Pomegranate molasses and Oregon cranberries complement the robust flavor with a hint of fruits and just enough tart.
Black Cherry Porter
5 Short's Eight different malts, in conjunction with nugget hops, provide the deep radiant flavor profile and create the dark opaque color. A slight purple lace from the fruit puree leads into smooth soft hints of roasted chocolate and black cherry flavors. This is quite possibly the most anticipated beer we offer.
Black Chocolate Stout
8 Brooklyn Brewery This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style, once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specially roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.
Black Note
8 Bell's One of the most sought-after stouts in Bell's history, Black Note Stout blends the complex aromatics of Expedition Stout with the velvety smooth texture of Double Cream Stout and ages the combination in freshly retired oak bourbon barrels for months. The resulting harmony of flavors captures the finest features of all three components: malty notes of dark chocolate, espresso & dried fruits, all buoyed by the warmth and fragrance of the bourbon barrel. Aimed squarely at the stout and bourbon aficionados, Black Note makes a grand statement about the art of the dark.
Black River Oatmeal Stout
5 Paw Paw Brewing Company Pleasing mild roast, rich bittersweet chocolate and chocolate ice cream flavor. Terrific mouth feel, clean and drying in the finish.
Blackbeard's Bear Hug
7 Bell's A rich and intense beer with layers of complexity that offers waves of dark rum, burnt sugar, rich vanilla, toasty coconut, cinnamon, light roast malts, dark chocolate and more. A perfect cool weather sipper or accompaniment to dessert. This version of Bear Hug is aged in rum barrels with seven different types of vanilla beans, toasted coconut and Saigon cinnamon.
Blackout Sout
6 Great Lakes A Russian Imperial Stout with a hearty malt body and bold hop flavor. Named after the infamous "Blackout of 2003" that left the northeastern United States in complete darkness, but resulted in old-fashioned neighborhood porch parties and fun.

6 Great Lakes A Russian imperial stout with a hearty malt body and bold hop flavor.
Blackout Stout (Bourbon Barrel Aged)
7 Great Lakes Lots of roasted coffee on the nose. Notes of chocolate, bourbon, and some dark fruit, notably fig. Bourbon on the front of the palate followed by coffee and sweet, dark fruit. Milk chocolate and tobacco on the back end. Nice malty caramel aftertaste.
Blaecorn Unidragon
8 Clown Shoes What should we call our Russian Imperial Stout? Black Unicorn? Soul Dragon? Nohhh. Let’s combine them and create the ultimate mythical creature: Blaecorn Unidragon. Imbued with a monstrous amount of dark malt and aggressive hops, Blaecorn Unidragon is a powerful and complex brew designed to improve with age.
Ble Point Oatmeal Stout

A rich, deeply malted extravaganza of a beer, Blue Point Brewing’s Oatmeal Stout is a dark beer drinker’s dream come true. We use pale, crystal, chocolate, and roasted malts with just the right amount of flaked oats added to produce an uncommonly silky brew. Bobo is the packs’ Alpha Male, and in a word he is ROBUST. So naturally we thought he deserved his own delicous Robust Porter. A small bottle with big flavor! Brewed with 6 different malts & generously hopped. Robust doesn’t really begin to describe this beer. Smooth chocolate flavors with hints of coffee, caramel, and vanilla. Hop presence is copious and is matched by rich malt flavors.

Bourbon County Barleywine
8 Goose Island Aged in the third-use barrels that were once home to Kentucky bourbon and then our renowned Bourbon County Stout, this traditional English-style barleywine possesses the subtlety of flavor that only comes from a barrel that’s gone through many seasons of ritual care. The intricacies of the previous barrel denizens – oak, charcoal, hints of tobacco and vanilla, and that signature bourbon heat – are all present in this beer.
Bourbon County Coffee
8 Goose Island Everyday Goose Island smells the wonderful coffee roasting next to our brewery at Chicago's Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea. This world class roaster puts the same passion askill into their coffee as Goose Island does with its beer. This excellent stout is made with a different coffee from our friends next door each year. With the change in coffee comes a change in the flavor profile, making each release truly unique from the previous years.
Bourbon County Regal Rye
8 Goose Island A unique blend of Bourbon County Brand Stout aged in rye whiskey barrels with blackberries, Luxardo candied cherries, fresh sour cherries and sea salt. Developed by the team of Goose Island brewers, this year’s recipe was especially collaborative. The brewers submitted recipes, held a roundtable discussion dissecting each and in the end landed on Bourbon County Brand Regal Rye Stout.
Bourbon County Stout
9 Goose Island Brewed in honor of the 1000th batch at our original Clybourn brewpub. A liquid as dark and dense as a black hole with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke. One sip has more flavor than your average case of beer.
Bourbon County Vanilla Rye
8 Goose Island First brewed for the legendary festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer in Chicago, drinkers enjoyed this Bourbon County Variant so much we bottled it the next year (2010). People flocked to stores to get their hands on a bottle and have this one of a kind barrel aged stout. Over the past few years we have heard our fans express their love for this version and we are extremely proud to bring it back in 2014. This years version features a little twist of aging the stout in Rye Whiskey Barrels with a mix of Mexican and Madagascar vanilla beans!
Breakfast Beast
7 Clown Shoes Beer The beer is Breakfast Beast, a blend of Blaecorn Unidragon Russian imperial stout (12.5 percent ABV), Undead Party Crasher imperial stout (10 percent ABV) and an “experimental new stout” that was aged in bourbon barrels. In addition, cold brewed coffee sourced from Barrington Coffee Roasting Co. in Lee, Mass. was added to the beer before being bottled.
Breakfast Stout
8 Founder's The coffee lover’s consummate beer. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and imported chocolates, and Sumatra and Kona coffee, this stout has an intense fresh-roasted java nose topped with a frothy, cinnamon-colored head that goes forever.
Brett Stout (Sonoma Farmhouse Series)
7 Lagunitas Our Sonoma Farmhouse Series is a showcase of the sometimes-funky, sometimes-rustic, always-limited fine ales from the Lagunitas Brewer's playground. This particular Brett Stout was fermented with a slight funk of Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and our house Ale Yeast. Then housed in Sonoma County red-wine barrels for up to four years. The result is 100% pure barrel-aged bliss... smooth, tart, and sultry, with a certain Sonoma-esque-ish-ness. Finely aged and finally ready to share. Try one now and grab another to age a little longer. Or not. Life is Uncertain!

Buffalo Sweat
5 Tallgrass Brewing Company We often hear from fans who swore they’d never enjoy a stout — until they tried Buffalo Sweat. Some have described its rich taste, creamy mouthfeel and sweet, lingering finish as liquid chocolate chip cookies made with espresso. If you only try one dark beer in your life, Buffalo Sweat will change your entire perception of how a stout should taste.
Bullet Tooth
7 Perrin Brewing Company Dressed in black much like it’s namesake, Bullet Tooth Tony, our first rum barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout is smooth yet sturdy, and means business. Chinook and Mount Hood hops provide a bitter backbone for this chocolate malt driven heavy hitter. Finishing dry, with deeply complex notes of roast, dark fruit and baker’s chocolate, Bullet Tooth will warm you like the blood that runs through your veins. There are two types of stouts: big, brave ones like ours, and the little mincey, wimpy stouts you usually find standing on either side of you, which may as well be… replicas.

Choklat
7 Southern Tier The Popol Vuh, the sacred book of the Maya, unfolds a complex web of mystery around a beverage known as xocoatl (ch-co-atle). At Southern Tier, we’re not surprised that hieroglyphs of the ancient Maya depict chocolate being poured for rulers and gods. Even through the many voyages of Columbus, the mystical bean remained nothing more than a strange currency of the native peoples. Moving through centuries, the circular journey of cacao has been realized in our brew house, encompassing the complexity of the darkest, bittersweet candy together with the original frothy cold beverage of the ancient Maya to bring to you our Blackwater Series Choklat Stout. We have combined the finest ingredients to tempt your senses and renew the power and interrelation of history in every bottle. Yes, KBS may already be brewed with coffee, but it gets some extra oomph when it’s aged on espresso beans after being removed from barrels. The result is a fresh and snappy coffee twist on our classic barrel-aged beer. Who says you can’t start your day with a barrel-aged stout?
Kentucky Breakfast Stout
9 Founders What we've got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight. (70 IBU)
Kill 'Em All
7 Perrin Brewing Company Flavorful Russian Imperial Stout aged in Van Winkle Family Reserve Barrels.
Kingdom of Tonga Vanilla Porter
5 Perrin Brewing The vanilla beans used in this beer come from... you guessed it: The Kingdom of Tonga. Tonga has over 170 islands and is located in the South Pacific. The taste profile is much different than our former Vanilla Porter. Those beans were sweeter; whereas the profile of these beans consists more of fig and raisin . Chocolate and coffee notes (with a subtle caramel touch) set this beer off while the vanilla beans lead into a delightfully dry finish.
Lagunitas Imperial Stout
8 Lagunitas Dark and thick like your favorite dessert with a Bonus. Highly roasted malted barley, and plenty of it, gives the beer uncommon richness and smoky, roasty depth… kinda like a hydraulic sandwich in a glass.
Lavender Latte
5 Brew Detroit Brewed with Great Lakes Roasting Company coffee blend & lavender. This brew sports a beautiful golden color and full-bodied flavor. Caramel, Munich & Pilsner malt add sweetness while flaked oats aid in additional body. Nitrogen Tap aids in the rich smoothness that’s accompanied by a pleasant lavender finish

4 Left Hand Brewing Dark and delicious, America's great milk stout will change your perception about what a stout can be. Preconceived notions are the blinders on the road to enlightenment. Udderly delightful.
Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout
4 Left Hand Brewing Dark & delicious, America’s great milk stout will change your perception about what a stout can be. Pouring hard out of the bottle, Milk Stout Nitro cascades beautifully, building a tight, thick head like hard whipped cream. The aroma is of brown sugar and vanilla cream, with hints of roasted coffee. The pillowy head coats your upper lip and its creaminess entices your palate. Initial roasty, mocha flavors rise up, with slight hop & roast bitterness in the finish. The rest is pure bliss of milk chocolate fullness.
Liberty One Porter
5 Liberty Street Brewing This is our first year anniversary ale that won a medal three years in a row at the World Expo of Beer. In 2009, and 2011 as the base beer for the Tart Cherry Porter, and in 2010 on it's own in the Porter category.

Lion
0 Lion Stout
Lion Stout
7 Lion A foreign stout brewed from British Czech and Danish malts with Syrian hops and an English yeast strain. All the ingredients are transported along precarious roads to the brewery located 3500 feet above sea level.
Liquid Vinyl
7 Arbor Brewing Company Our Russian Imperial Stout is full bodied and complex, with layers of flavors that develop with every sip. Aromas of licorice and dark cocoa yield to notes of sweetened coffee and toasted cookies, before finishing with a light smokiness that lingers on the palate. Like a good LP, this beer will age well and improve with time. Music, beer… some things are best enjoyed in analog.
Lizard of Koz
8 Founders Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki wanted to make the birthday of his little sister, Liz, a special one. So he did what he does best and brewed a stout using a few of her favorite ingredients: fresh Michigan blueberries, rich chocolate and vanilla aged in bourbon barrels to round out those beautiful flavors. Liz was floored and we think you will be too.
London Porter (Bourbon Barrel Aged)
6 Arcadia Brewing Co. This 18th Century-style Smoked Porter has subtle accent of peat-like Bamberg smoked malt, which is apparent in both the aroma and flavor. It is brewed with seven varieties of premium European malted barley. This tasty treat was then aged for 12 months in Bourbon Barrels!
London Stout
5 Meantime Porter was the great London beer style of the 18th and 19th centuries, when the city was revered as both the brewing capital and trading hub of the world. Named after the legions of porters in her docks, streets and markets who drank this powerful beer to slake their thirst, Meantime London Porter is a classic interpretation of this complex dark beer style.
Love Shadow
7 Vivant Taking up his (or her) mash paddle on brew day, the brewer has his (or her) eye on the future months when flavors all come together. However, there is always a shadow of mischief that comes in the forms of fermentation, wooden barrels, grain terroir or water pH. Still, guiding this magical elixir from start to finish is the brewer's duty. With Love Shadow, we have guided a powerful Belgian inspired Imperial stout through the bourbon barrel aging process and come out the other side with a full bodied behemoth with notes of chocolate, vanilla, and oak char. Drink Up.
Lucifer's Cuvee
6 Latitude 42 Dangerously devastating, Lucifer’s Cuvée is our Double Chocolate Oatmeal Stout. Intense hearty rye, along with a decadent gourmet of chocolate essence, and balanced by the addition of Cascade hops.
LUMPY

Mackeson XXX Stout
5 Boston Beer Co. A chocolate lover's delight. Nice malty body. Ultra smooth mouth feel and a perfect hop bite in the end to cut off the sweetness.
Mackinaw Island Fudge Stout
5 Arbor Brewing Company This beer is great by itself but we also love it in a “carriage bomb.” Fill a pint glass one-half to two-thirds full of Mackinac Island Fudge Stout and then drop in a shot glass with half espresso vodka and half Irish cream—delicious!
Malted Milk Ball
7 Perrin Brewing Company Imperial porter with cocoa nibs and Polynesian vanilla beans aged in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels for 9 months.
Mangalista Pig Porter
6 Right Brain The beer that put Right Brain on the map. A rich and chocolaty porter brewed with real smoked pig heads and bones. Very toothsome, and showcasing a flavor experience similar to taking a soft pretzel, wrapping it in ham, and dipping it chocolate. 2011 Gold Medal Winner for Best Experimental Beer at the Great American Beer Festival®.
Maple Dragonsmilk
0 New Holland
Mary’s Maple Porter
5 Brooklyn Brewery Real maple syrup tastes great on pancakes and waffles, but it’s awfully good in beer too. Porter is a classic British ale style that traveled to the United States, sustained George Washington during the Revolution, and later built London’s great breweries. Mary’s Maple Porter is a rich, dark ale featuring a large portion of her maple syrup in the kettle. After fermentation by our house ale yeast, the syrup is no longer sweet (yeast likes to eat maple syrup too), but the maple flavor shows through in a complex interplay with caramel, chocolate, and cof fee flavors from our blend of roasted malts. An earthy hop note rounds it all out.
Mayan Mocha Stout
6 Odd Side Ales
Mayan Mocha Stout (Barrel Aged)
6 Odd Side Ales Chocolate coffee stout turned in to a meixcan hot chocolate brewed with Dutch chocolate coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg & habaneros. Aged in bourbon barrels.
Meantime Chocolate Porter
6 Meantime The natural mocca flavours of the four different roasted malts used to brew this rich, dark beer are complemented by the addition of real chocolate during maturation. Warm, complex and smooth, it has a long, clean finish
Mephistopheles'
9 Avery Brewing Mephistopheles is the crafty shape shifter, the second fallen angel. Amazingly complex, coal black, velvety and liqueurish, this demon has a bouquet of vine-ripened grapes, anise and chocolate covered cherries with flavors of rum-soaked caramelized dark fruits and a double espresso finish. Cellarable for 10+ years.
Merry Mischief
7 Boston Beer Company This rich dark gingerbread stout entices with the aromas of the holidays, hinting at the merriment and spices within. The flavor of gingerbread comes alive beginning with the smooth sweetness and heartiness of dark roasted malts and a touch of wheat. But it’s the intensity and spices of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, & ginger that add a wicked kick for a jolly playful brew full of merry mischief.
Michael Faricy's Irish Stout
5 Arbor Brewing Company This crowd-pleaser has a dark coffee-like appearance with a creamy head and smoky, roasted grain aromas. It is rich and creamy on the palate with chalky, burnt flavors balanced by lush dark chocolates and never turns too dry through the smoky finish. Full-flavored yet highly drinkable—rich and creamy without being thick or heavy.
Milchkaffee
5 Bell's A sweet, milk stout brewed with a blend of two coffee beans, Pressed for Success, a medium roasted Nicaraguan coffee and Killer Beanz, a dark roasted Papua New Guinea coffee, roasted just a block away from our original brewery, next to our pub, the Eccentric Café, in downtown Kalamazoo. The coffee used in the brewing process was made using a cold brewing technique which extracts the coffee aroma and flavor without any acidic or acrid notes. Combined with lactose, this technique gives the beer a smooth, gentle coffee character. Lactose also lends a silky, slightly sweet note to Milchkaffee.
Milestone Porter
5 Arbor Brewing Company Milestone is a robust porter—dark, rich and full-bodied with a complex palate displaying hints of chocolate, figs, raisins, toasted nuts, and a subtle sour smokiness.
Milk Route Stout
5 Austin Brothers Beer Co Chocolate and roasted caramel coffee taste create the perfect balance in this milk stout. Milk sugar is added during the brewing process to provide sweetness and a full bodied flavor.

0 Stone
Mill Street Vanilla Porter
4 Mill Street Brewery A cult favorite from our Toronto Brewpub, Vanilla Porter is an extra-smooth Nitrogen-charged English-style dark ale brewed with pure vanilla extract. Chocolate flavors dominate the beer with an underlying tone of dried fruit and a subtle finish that leaves you wanting more!
MMMM Chocolate Rye Porter
6 Darkhorse Rye carries throughout the flavor profile, which is dominated by chocolate and roasted malt. It's a touch sweet, with some dark fruit character. The finish is a little dry and bitter.
Mocha Milk Stout (Pilot Series)
5 Alaskan Inspired by the coffee culture of the Pacific Northwest, this sweet stout has an added chocolaty creaminess. Sweet Stouts have lactose added to provide residual sweetness and body because beer yeasts cannot ferment lactose. The cacao nibs added to this beer bring a hint of chocolate. The Guatemalan Huehuetenango was chosen for its mellow and earthy roast character.

Murphy's Irish Stout
4 Magor Black with a heavy pale light brown foamy head. A mixture of chocolate and malted barleys with a smoky undertone set this beer on top of others.
Mystery Stout
6 Short's An Imperial Oatmeal Stout brewed with cocoa and molasses. A slight bitterness from the cocoa is noticeable, and yields to the overall sweetness. Allow it to warm, and the full flavor profile is revealed. The mystery is how we managed to pack so much flavor into one beer!?!
Narwhal (Barrel Aged)
8 Sierra Nevada Barrel-Aged Narwhal is our deliciously dark Imperial Stout aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels. Barrel aging is a strange science; it mellows some characteristics of the original beer while intensifying others. Narwhal’s aggressive roastiness has calmed, but the rich, chocolate-like malt backbone is brought to the fore. Black as midnight, this intense stout is complex with notes of cocoa and espresso balanced with hints of vanilla and toasted coconut from the oak casks. Nearly as rare as it’s nautical namesake, try Barrel-Aged Narwhal while you can because like the creature itself, it will soon dive into the depths and leave nary a trace behind.
Naughty Girl Stout
4 Right Brain Brewery Thin mint cookie, meet John Niedermaier A stout made with organic locally-grown whole leaf mint. She’s just back from a stint in the cooler for being too naughty. She might have mellowed out but this stout is still naughty at heart.
Naval Porter
7 Meantime Meantime Hospital Porter (called Naval College Old Porter in the U.S.) is made through 24 months oak aging in used Bruichladdich Octomore barrels has lent a woody, intensely peaty smokiness to our 'stock' Porter, which we have blended with a younger beer. This latter adds vitality to the brew. Hospital Porter is one beer that is best not over-chilled, and, like the original Porters, will mature with age.
Neapolitan Milk Stout
4 Saugatuck A perfect blend of classic dry stout character paired with the wonderful flavors and rich aromas of Neapolitan Ice Cream... Enjoy the rich chocolate, strawberry and vanilla all in one amazing beer.
Neapolitan Milk Stout (Barrel-Aged)

Neptune
7 Bell's With Neptune, our Planets Series comes to an end. Inspired by one of Larry Bell’s old homebrew recipes and the music of Gustav Holst, this complex, strong and spiced Imperial Stout offers prominent herbal notes along with flavors of chocolate, roasted malt, licorice/anise and pepper with a touch of heat. Reminiscent of a mystical creation brewed in days gone by, this beer is a good candidate for aging due to the robust characteristics of its ingredients.
New World Porter
5 Avery Brewing A traditional black porter, with a surprise twist — it’s dry-hopped! We’ve expanded the porter category a bit, adding a delightful, dry hop aroma to blend with the sweet caramel and chocolate characteristics of a Robust Porter.

Nutter Your Business
5 Grand Armory Built on a chocolatey milk stout base, the peanut butter makes this beer taste like your favorite proprietary cookie. If anyone asks why you’d want a beer that tastes like dessert, tell them it’s “Nutter Your Business.”
Oak Barrel Stout
6 Old Dominion We use smoked and peated malts to create an intricate malt foundation. Our method of dry hopping with vanilla beans and oak chips pushes the depth of this stout’s flavor spectrum even further.
Oat
7 Southern Tier This beer begins in spring when oat seeds are sown as soon as the soil can be worked. Meanwhile, select types of barley are planted with the hope that Mother Nature will be kind. Our brewers wait patiently until the legumes are mature and ready for the scythe. Upon delivery to the brewery, these ingredients are mixed together in the mash tun where they steep, creating a rich molasses-like liquid. Spicy hops are boiled with the thick brew, giving balance and complexity. Brewers yeast feasts upon the rich sugars, concluding its transformation into oatmeal stout. Pour Oat into a snifter, allow its thick tan head to slowly rise, releasing unbridled aromas. The color of Oat is as dark as a moonless night. The first sip reveals Oat’s thick and nourishing taste. Like a haversack to a horse, a bottle of this stout is a meal in itself FOOD PAIRINGS: Particularly tasty as dessert, or try paired with vanilla custard, bananas foster, or over vanilla ice cream.

Oatmeal Stout
5 Kuhnhenn Black in color, this Oatmeal stout has a mild roasted grain aroma, with no hops presence. It is medium bodied with a dry palate. The addition of oats add a grainy quality to this drinkable malty stout.
Obscura
5 The Musketeers Pretty dark color, as you would expect from a stout. Slightly more red-brown, though, when compared with Irish stouts. A dense rich creamy beige head crowns your glass. Thanks to the refermentation in the bottle, we have the natural carbonation. The flavors are deeper, richer, more pronounced: malty, clearly roasted - is it hints of coffee, is it hints of chocolate? Deceptive, because the relatively high alcohol content is not immediately felt, except maybe a slight glowing sensation. A complex aftertaste, with some licorice undertones, and a pleasant bitterness survives last.
Obsidian Stout (Nitro)
5 Deschutes Brewery Deep, robust and richly rewarding, this is beer to linger over. Obsidian has distinct notes of espresso, chocolate, roasted malt and black barley, with just enough hop bite to cut the sweetness.

Ola Dubh
7 Harviestoun In a collaboration with Highland Park Distillery, Old Engine Oil is matured in whisky barrels (either 12, 16 or 30 year whisky barrels). Retaining the appearance of used motor oil from which the beer gets its name, it is deep dark brown, dense and oily. On the nose there are notes of truffle oil and cocoa as well as faint smoke and heathery peat from the whisky casks. Although lighter in body than its appearance suggests, Ola Dubh is pithy, oily, slaty and bitter on the palate. The finish is exceptional; burnt and bitter notes with an interplay of late hop characters, orange oil, fruity tartness and then delicate, fragrant smoke.
Old Rasputin Imperial Stout
8 North Coast Extremely rich roasted malt and alcohol aromatics. Thick roasted malts burnt chocolate coffee flavors penetrate deeply on the palate. Creamy and rich mouth feel. Complex and complete!

We then infuse toasted coconut and Ghanaian cacao nibs to ramp up the chocolate flavor and add a nutty, sweet coconut taste to pair with the already roasty and chocolaty stout. The smooth body and creamy mouthfeel pair gracefully with these additions leading to a delectable, rich brew.

So Happens It's Tuesday
7 The Bruery Our infamous Black Tuesday® stout is named in honor of the great stock market crash of 1929. So Happens It’s Tuesday is similarly dark and delicious, but in a more affable format, reminding us that there is always a bit of good to be found within the bad. Things happen, life goes on. This beer can be enjoyed in all of those moments and seasons.
Son Of A Baptist
6 Epic Brewing Co. Son of a Baptist is an 8% ABV imperial stout. It is not barrel aged like its father, Big Bad Baptist; instead its flavor profile was designed to highlight the complex and often unique flavors of small batch coffees. Instead of sourcing a coffee that would play well in a beer we sought out creative and innovative roasters, then asked them which beans they’re passionate about. Each resulting release of Son of a Baptist is widely different depending on the coffee selected. Some are fruity and sweet with notes of jam and chocolate, others are rich and earthy with a big roasted finish. Each limited release will return to the Roaster’s home market where the beer and the coffee can be sampled side by side.
Sour Cherry Imperial Stout
7 Blue Point Truly worthy its majestic name in fluid ounces, our Sour Cherry Imperial Stout is anything but sour. In fact, we have to make sure there’s plenty of it available for Valentine’s Day – after all, nothing says love like chocolates and a Sour Cherry Imperial Stout. This is an extremely complex version of the classic Russian beer style with plenty of roasted, black, and chocolate malts that delivers multi-layered coffee and sherry notes in a surprisingly smooth package. The beer is then matured with just a kiss of real sour red cherries. If you see Sour Cherry Imperial Stout on tap, give it a try – like true love, it’s sometimes hard to find.

Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout
6 Stone
Stone 6th Anniversary Porter
7 Stone For our 6th anniversary in 2002, we extended this concept by making an intensified version of Stone Smoked Porter. We cranked up the malts and hops a notch or three and conditioned it on French and American oak, which accentuated our porter’s distinctive smokiness and amplified its chocolate and roast coffee flavors while also adding subtle notes of toffee, cherries, dried berries and vanilla. We’re proud to give those who missed out—as well as those who didn’t—a fresh shot at experiencing this smoky, dark-as-night wonder.
Stone Imperial Russian Stout
9 Stone "There’s no question that Stone Imperial Stout is revered among enthusiasts," states Stone CEO Greg Koch. "I know, because I’m one of ’em and I can hardly wait for it to come out each year!" Some may think that a late Spring release for a special brew of this sort is an odd time for it to come out onto the market. Koch justifies this with the rationalization "What better than a warm time of year to come out with a brew that tastes great as it warms up!" That’s because "ice cold" is certainly not the appropriate way to serve the beer. Nearly without exception, the darker, richer and more alcoholic a brew is, the warmer the serving temperature should be. The Stone Imperial Stout label describes the brew as being "intensely aromatic (notes of anise, black currants, coffee, roastiness and alcohol) and heavy on the palate...expect this mysterious brew to pour like used motor oil and taste even heavier! Serve at 55 degrees."
Stone Imperial Russian Stout (Odd Year)
9 Stone Like the classic version, this Odd Year edition was brewed in the authentic, historical style of an imperial Russian stout, but with the addition of several hundred pounds of espresso beans from our friends at Ryan Bros. Coffee. Layers of flavor and complexity augment an already enigmatic brew, leaving this darkly delicious libation positively brimming with deep, rich espresso flavors that meld beautifully with the roasty bitterness of the dark malts.

8 Stone Brewed by Stone for Ashley's 30th Anniversary Celebration. A blend of their Russian Imperial Stout and Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale. Sunday Mole Stout
8 Weyerbacher Brewing Co. As the name suggests, this 11.3% ABV American Imperial Stout is the foundation of everyone’s favorite, Sunday Morning Stout, with a twist (and without the barrel aging)… This brew captures everything you’d expect from a traditional molé – coffee, chocolate, heat and smokiness. Foremost is coffee, which is followed by layers of chocolate courtesy of the chocolate malt, cocoa powder and cacao nibs. Finally, a subtle lingering heat and smokiness from our blend of ancho, pasilla, mulato and chipotle peppers, as well as cinnamon, which is gone by the time you’re ready for your next sip.
